Dr. Feldman completed his undergraduate training with high honors at the University of Maryland in 1964. He was awarded a BS degree in Zoology. He attended the Washington University School of Medicine and graduated in 1968. His internship and assistant residency in internal medicine were completed at the Barnes Hospital at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Feldman then served two years in the United States Air Force. He returned to his postgraduate training in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine in the Harvard Medical School system. Following his training, he became an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School and the Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Feldman relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1978. He practiced critical care and pulmonary medicine at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida where he served as the Director of the Respiratory ICU and Department of Respiratory Therapy. In 1985, Dr. Feldman founded and became the Director of the St. Petersburg Sleep Disorders Center at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. He became a Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine in 1990 and the Sleep Center was fully accredited by the American Sleep Disorders Association in 1992. Dr. Feldman is now a full-time sleep medicine specialist and provides consultation in neurological, psychiatric, and medical sleep disorders. He has served as a principal investigator, conducting clinical trials for major pharmaceutical companies in the fields of narcolepsy, insomnia, and sleep apnea, and he has authored and contributed to numerous publications in the field of sleep medicine and pulmonary medicine. |
